Commitment to research, develop and manufacture medical devices that you can trust.

Belluscura

We focus on science and emerging technologies that create improved health and economic outcomes for the patients, providers and insurance companies.

Providing innovative enriched oxygen treatment platforms across large markets benefits the entire healthcare system by reducing the cost of treatment and increasing available treatment options.

It is critical that we innovate and commercialise rapidly, identifying platforms that can make a significant healthcare improvement, have a clear regulatory approval path and deliver a good return to our shareholders.

  • SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN FOR RESPIRATORY DISEASES

Supplemental oxygen is prescribed to those who suffer from lung diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis, lung cancer or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Over 15 million Americans use supplemental oxygen for respiratory disorders.

  • SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN FOR ACUTE CARDIAC CASES

The rationale behind supplemental oxygen in the acute setting has been to increase oxygen delivery to the ischemic heart, brain, or other organs in hypoxemic patients.

  • SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN FOR RECREATIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL USES

At higher altitudes, oxygen levels decrease. Supplemental oxygen is sometimes needed at altitudes of 2,500 meters for healthy individuals to perform recreational and industrial activities.

  • EXTRACORPOREAL MEMBRANE OXYGENATION (ECMO)

An ECMO machine replaces the function of the heart and lungs. Typically, people are supported by an ECMO machine for only a few hours to days, but may require it for a few weeks depending on how their condition progresses. Oxygen is delivered directly to a patient’s blood through the ECMO membrane. Critically ill patients with COVID-19 infection have required invasive mechanical ventilation and rescue therapies such as ECMO.

  • ORGAN TRANSPLANT

Supplemental oxygen is used in the next generation portable warm perfusion, organ transplant systems designed to keep a donor heart at a human-like, metabolically active state.

  • WOUNDCARE

Topical oxygen treatment appears to benefit wound healing in patients suffering from chronic wounds. It is associated with induction in growth factor expression in the wound edge tissue and improvement in wound size.

  • DISINFECTANT

Ozone is a very powerful disinfectant used to treat both waste and drinking water. In a corona-discharge production process, ozone is created by an electrical discharge to ambient air. Using highly concentrated oxygen instead of ambient air for the production of ozone, there is a higher ozone production, a smaller footprint and no pre-treatment of the feed gas required.

We Are All in This Together

Partnering for solutions in response to COVID-19

Belluscura’s team, research partners, regulatory and manufacturing consultants are diligently working together in response to the increased oxygen treatment demand that stems from the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Whilst the use of oxygen in treating COVID-19 patients through ventilation is well known, increasingly studies are suggesting adapted benefits such as nocturnal O2 therapy, single-access, dual-stage venovenous ECMO with early extubation and Ozone Disinfection of PPE. The longer term effects on COVID-19 patients is yet to be determined however the early indications are that long term oxygen therapy is highly likely in many COVID-19 patients.

As an inventor and supplier of patented oxygen enrichment technology, our focus is to bring this technology to market quickly and doing our part to help millions of people worldwide get the supplemental oxygen treatments they need – now with more urgency than ever before.
